ANOTHER option is to combine cycling with public transport. This can be done if cyclists use a small folding bicycle.
This was described in the article "Fold and go" (The Star, Oct 1, 2011). People cycle to the LRT or KTM Komuter station where they then fold up their bikes and take them on board the train.
Upon arrival, the bike is unfolded and cycled to the final destination. This saves on the need for taxis or long walks from the train stations.
This was the option chosen by music composer and lecturer Ng Chor Guan as well as Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra member Sim Chee Ghee (pic).
