I CONCUR with Jacqueline Pereira (The reading race, Culture Cul De Sac, Vestibule, StarMag, March 28), who expects at least one of our many Malaysian writers to have been made the reading campaign ambassador.
In my opinion, celebrities who are not connected with the literary world are not suitable choices. After the excitement of the launch has died down, we will be back to square one. I would go one step further and suggest we choose our very own writers. We aren’t short of them.
