Celebrity chefs Manu Feildel (left) and Pete Evans, the charming judges of the reality cooking show My Kitchen Rules, have been friends for more than a decade after the former slipped his résumé under Evans’ restaurant door shortly after arriving in Australia some 14 years ago.
The two are charismatic and dapper but when it comes to judging the food put in front of them by the contestants of the show, the guys can be brutal. The cardinal sin any chef can commit in Feildel’s eyes is serving a dish, particularly a meat dish, without any sauce.
His most often repeated quote on MKR is, “Where is my sauce?” or sometimes, “Guys, how hard is it to make some sauce?” Evan’s demand is a tad more modest: “What we’re really after is good, honest, home-cooked food, that’s perfect.” – S. Indramalar
> The finale of My Kitchen Rules
