THE Wolfman (pic) is coming to NBC. The network is developing a TV adaptation of the 2010 movie The Wolfman, which starred Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt, reports.

After revisiting the legend of Dracula in 2013, NBC will turn its attention to werewolves in 2014 through an adaptation of the film, which was itself a remake of the classic 1930s Universal monster movie starring Lon Chaney Jr.

Del Toro played a Shakespearean actor who returns to his hometown, which is being devastated by a half-wolf, half-man creature.

Producers have yet to reveal additional details on the project created by Daniel Knauf, who is currently heading up Dracula with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The movie was set in the late 19th century, but it remains to be seen whether the series will choose the same time period. – AFP Relaxnews

Ness and his nemesis

ELIOT Ness, the leader of the Untouchables – an elite law enforcement team tasked with keeping Al Capone’s Chicago crime empire in check during the 1920s and 30s – will be at the centre of a new NBC miniseries.

According to, the eight-part Nemesis will focus on a later period in the life of Ness, whose years battling Capone are related in Brian de Palma’s 1987 film The Untouchables.

It will open in 1935, after Al Capone’s arrest. Recently named director of Public Safety for the city of Cleveland, Ness is charged with tracking down the Torso Killer, who is terrorising Ohio residents by decapitating and dismembering his victims.

The book Nemesis: The Final Case Of Eliot Ness by William Bernhardt will serve as the basis for the miniseries, developed with help from Chicago producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. – AFP Relaxnews
