Rapper gets booed off stage at a festival after going on one of his bizarre rants.
Kanye West was booed after he went on a 15-minute tirade at the Wireless Festival in London last weekend.
The performer went on a lengthy rant, wearing a mask in front of a black-and-white video loop of a waterfall, and took several shots at the fashion industry.
“They’re taking the idea of celebrity and they’re trying to make me seem like I was stupid or something,” West said.
“You know, when I take these meetings and s–, people will talk to you like you’re stupid or something ... I’m not going to call no names out, I’m not going to mention Nike, or nothing like that ... but if you’re a creative, and you wanna create, and you just wanna create more, this is exactly what I’ve been fighting for,” he added.
“So when you hear me talking about Louis Vuitton or the Gucci group or anything like that, I’m not dissing Louis Vuitton, I’m not dissing the Gucci group and s–.
I’m just saying, don’t discriminate against me because I’m a black man, or because I’m a celebrity.”
Fans were not amused and began booing during his jeremiad. Others called upon the festival to offer refunds.
“Kanye West has absolutely killed off all #WirelessFestival excitement,” said concert attendee Dale Hathaway on social media. “B– awful!!!!!! I demand a refund!!!” — Reuters
