The music video for lead single Eyes, Nose, Lips was released on June 2 and is fast getting a lot of love from fans all over the world.
K-pop star Taeyang, who is a member of the super group Big Bang, may have just hit musical gold with his new single Eyes, Nose, Lips. It is the lead track from the singer’s second full-length solo effort, Rise, released officially today (it was made available digitally last week).
The album sees a collection of songs that carry traces of EDM, hip-hop, gospel and soul, which are typical of Taeyang’s musical stylings. However, on Eyes, Nose, Lips the singer tackles a tune that’s a lot more subdued.
In the music video, the 26-year-old Taeyang, clad in denim jeans, a beanie hat and a big ol’ chain necklace (yes, he’s shirtless), sings a heartfelt love song that’s heavy on the piano and low on audio enhancements. It may seem a little sappy for some – especially if you’re not familiar with the guy’s work or that of Big Bang’s – but it does show a softer side of Taeyang.
K-pop fans will be glad to know that Big Bang’s G-Dragon and 2NE1’s CL also appear on the album, on the tracks Stay With Me and Body, respectively. Other songs on Rise include Love You To Death, 1AM, Let Go and Ringa Linga, which was released last year.
