Il Divo is set to perform Broadway show tunes in Malaysia next year.

The classical pop group will be singing show tunes at the resort in March.

Classical crossover group Il Divo will be heading to the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting Highlands, Pahang as part of its A Musical Affair Tour.

The concert, inspired by the group’s successful week of performances at the Marquis Theatre in New York, is set to take place on March 14 and 15 next year.

Il Divo will be performing iconic Broadway show tunes like Memory from Cats, The Lion King’s Can You Feel The Love Tonight and West Side Story’s Tonight. These songs are also featured in the group’s latest album Il Divo – Musical Affair: The Greatest Songs Of Broadway Live.

The album also contains duets with Barbra Streisand, Kristin Chenoweth and Nicole Scherzinger.

Formed in 2004 by famed music manager Simon Cowell, Il Divo consists of Spanish baritone Carlos Marin, American tenor David Miller, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler and French pop singer Sebastien Izambard.

The multinational group rose to fame with its Spanish-language cover of Toni Braxton’s Un-break My Heart. To date, the band has also sold over 26 million albums worldwide.

Il Divo’s A Musical Affair Live at Resorts World Genting is supported by Malaysia Major Events, a division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

Tickets sales start from Jan 2, 2014 and are priced at RM180, RM280, RM390, RM590, RM790 and RM980. For more information, log on to or call 03-2718 1118. — By Angelin Yeoh
