Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, who star in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2', will be in Singapore on March 29 to officiate the Earth Hour event.

THIS year’s global flagship event for Earth Hour in Singapore will be graced by the presence of Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx. The cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be joined by director Marc Webb at the Earth Hour event on March 29 in The Float at Marina Bay.
Earth Hour is the world’s largest environmental grassroots movement organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Held internationally for the first time in 2008, the event has inspired major cities worldwide to switch off lights in a bid to raise environmental awareness.
This year, the cast and director of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be helping to switch off lights across Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay skyline. The stars will also be offering their support behind Earth Hour’s newly-launched crowdfunding and crowdsourcing platform Earth Hour Blue.
“I’m proud Spider-Man is the first Super Hero ambassador for Earth Hero because he shows that we can all be Super Heroes when we realize the power we have,” said Garfield in a press release. His co-star Stone, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man’s love interest Gwen Stacy in the movie, acknowledges the event’s influence.
“Earth Hour gives you the power to inspire anyone, even if you’re just one person. There are great projects from the crowd, for the planet, happening all over the world,” says Stone. The Earth Hour event kicks off at 8.30pm. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in cinemas nationwide on May 1, 2014.
