Milo (Kit Harington) and Cassia (Emily Browning) in TriStar Pictures' 'Pompeii'.
In spite of the impending eruption of Mt Vesuvius, Milo (Kit Harington) refuses to leave the city of Pompeii. The slave-turned-gladiator then finds himself in a race against time to save the love of his life and his best friend. Directed by Paul W S Anderson, the film co-stars Kiefer Sutherland, Emily Browning and Carrie-Anne Moss.
Steve Coogan co-writes and acts in this film about a journalist who journeys with an elderly woman (Judi Dench) in search of her son, whom she was forced to give up years ago. Stephen Frears directs.
The Book Thief
Based on the novel of the same name by Markus Zusak, this film features an extraordinarily spirited young girl who was sent to live with a foster family in Germany during World War II. Intrigued by the only book she brought with her and with the help of her new parents and a secret guest in her basement, she learns to read. Starring Sophie Nélisse, Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson.
Saving Mr Banks
Turning the book Mary Poppins by PL Travers (Emma Thompson) into a movie is not an easy task for Walt Disney (Tom Hanks). Travers has no intention of allowing Hollywood to butcher her book, but with sales slumping, she reluctantly goes to Los Angeles to meet him. The cast includes Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman, Bradley Whitford and Colin Farrell.
Here’s another story of forbidden love: Rich girl meets boy. They fall in love ... and when her parents try to keep the lovers apart, their affair grows more reckless. This steamy, romantic drama, a remake of the 1981 film of the same name, stars Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wild.
That Awkward Moment
Three New York bachelors enjoy living it up as singletons. That is, until they fall in love! Then, they find themselves where we’ve all been before – in that awkward, confusing stage where you have to decide where this relationship is heading. Zac Efron, Michael B Jordan and Miles Teller head the cast in Tom Gormican’s directorial debut.
