Robert Pattinson is set to star in an adventure drama set in the jungle.

The Twilight star will join Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming adventure drama.

British star Robert Pattinson has reportedly landed a role in the jungle adventure drama Lost City Of Z, a Brad Pitt production slated to be directed by James Gray.

According to Hollywood trade magazine Screen, Pattinson will appear in the forthcoming adventure movie Lost City Of Z, which has been in the making since 2009.

No details were provided on which role the former Twilight vampire might play in this adaptation of David Grann’s non-fiction book The Lost City Of Z: A Tale Of Deadly Obsession In The Amazon.

The film will feature Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness, The Fifth Estate) in the title role as Colonel Percy Fawcett, a dedicated explorer who ventured into the Amazon in 1925, convinced that there was a lost city to be found. The disappearance of his expedition party without a trace remains a mystery today.

Initially confirmed in the title role, Pitt remains attached to the project as a co-producer. Shooting on the film is expected to begin in 2014.

In the meantime, Pattinson will portray Lawrence of Arabia in Werner Herzog’s Queen Of The Desert, a biopic on the British explorer and writer Gertude Bell (Naomi Watts), who took part in the British Empire’s shaping of politics in the Middle East during the early 20th century.
