EVER wondered how it will be like to be entertained in the cinemas before the movie begins? Imagine being treated with something spectacular before the lights go off and the trailers begin ... an opening act, if you will.
Well, then, get ready to roll on the floor laughing with TGV 1 Utama’s one-of-a-kind in-cinema entertainment. For two days only (Sept 6 and 7), patrons of Grown Ups 2 will be entertained by the two-man stand-up comedy act Papi Zak and Grumpy, from RedFM, before the start of the movie.
“We are excited that TGV Cinemas is pioneering this new entertainment experience, starting with TGV 1 Utama in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
“Hopefully, the crowd will find that it enhances their movie-going experience and you never know, this might be a new way of enjoying the best of both cinema and stand-up comedy entertainment,” enthused Grumpy.
The stand-up is scheduled to run for 30 minutes and will start at 8.30pm.
TGV Cinemas CEO Gerald V. Dibbayawan explained: “Cinema is all about entertainment and engaging the cinema-goer, be it via drama, action, horror or even comedy, which is similar to how stand-up comedians entertain and engage their audience with their repertoire of jokes. So, why not combine both elements of entertainment?”
Patrons pay RM35 per ticket for this unique experience.
The ticket comes with a RM10 Chill*X voucher and two additional movie passes (worth RM28).
A new F&B concept launched in TGV 1 Utama, Chill*X is a special area for patrons to purchase food and snacks as well as lounge around before heading to the cinema hall.
This concept is planned with the hope of redefining the cinema experience for moviegoers.
