Harper Lee not ‘demented’, in fact she's ‘happy as hell’


Responding to claims that publishers are taking advantage of the author who is said to be senile with age, close friends say she’s still “sharp as tack”.

The 88-year-old author of To Kill a Mockingbird is “happy as hell” with the reaction to her decision to publish a second novel, says her lawyer on Feb 5 in response to concerns about the reclusive author’s mental and physical state.
