The director already has a comic based on the slave-turned bounty hunter.
Quentin Tarantino has begun working on a comic book series teaming his star character from Django Unchained with the famed black-clad masked hero Zorro.
It’s not his first foray into comics: Tarantino already wrote a comic based on the first version of his Academy Award-winning Django Unchained script.
However, he’s aiming for a more ambitious series this time. His former slave turned bounty hunter will share the plot with the pulp hero Zorro.
Tarantino is to co-plot the series with comic book writer Matt Wagner, known for his Zorro stories.
"It was reading his Zorro stories that convinced me what a good idea it was to join these two icons together. And the story idea we came up with is thrilling, and I think will be an exciting new chapter for both characters,” explained Tarantino in a statement.
The series – co-published by Dynamite Entertainment and DC Entertainment – is set for release in the second half of 2014. – AFP Relaxnews
