A TRAGIC accident in 1891 in Kipton, Ohio in the US, where a head-on collision between two trains resulted in eight deaths, emphasised the importance of precision in watches.
It had been claimed that the disaster was attributed to inaccuracy of the watch belonging to one of the trains’ engineers.
