CIMB Research surprised Sime Darby opted out of NBOL purchase


KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Equities Research expressed surprise over Sime Darby’s decision not to acquire Kulim's 48.7% stake in New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBPOL) after its exclusivity agreement with Kulim expired on Sept 28,   2014.

It said on Wednesday Sime Darby had been keen to acquire NBPOL, which would allow the group to expand its planted area by 15% to 607,218ha.
