Need for autonomous Bank Negara

Bank Negara Malaysia at Jalan Kuching in Kuala Lumpur is the Malaysian central bank or Malaysian Federal Reserve.Established on January 26, 1959 as the Bank Negara Malaya, its main purpose was to issue currency, act as banker and adviser to the Government of Malaysia and regulate the countrys credit situation.

Economists call for an independent central bank
