KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd had on Friday embarked on the ground breaking for the RM1.61bil development project in Putrajaya.
The development would be on a 34-acre land in Precinct 1 Putrajaya and comprises four packages including 10 blocks of office towers, a podium parking and external works.
Completion is expected to be in 34 months, and the contract will positively contribute to the group’s earnings.
SunCon said the contract for the design and build project was awarded by Putrajaya Bina Sdn Bhd in September.
To date, the total outstanding order book for SunCon Group is RM4.3bil.
Putrajaya Holdings CEO Datuk Azlan Abdul Karim and Sunway Group president Datuk Chew Chee Kin were present to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of the project.
SunCon, has to date, received more than 40 national and international accolades and recognitions for excellent industry performance, management, safety and health, as well as quality.
Its current projects include the Mass Rapid Transit Package V4, Light Rail Transit – Kelana Jaya extension line, Afiniti Urban Wellness Centre in Iskandar Johor, KLCC North East Carpark and KLCC Package 2.
SunCon said it was the first in its field to design buildings using the Virtual Design and Construction system (VDC).
