Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Thursday Oct 8

KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday October 8.

FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures fell on Wednesday for a second consecutive trading session on a
strengthening ringgit and after its rally last month shifted demand to Indonesia.
* U.S. grain futures retreated from their highest prices in more than two months on Wednesday
under pressure from advancing U.S. harvests and profit-taking ahead of key crop reports.
* Oil fell in volatile trading on Wednesday, snapping a three-day rally, after U.S. government
data showing a large crude inventory build surprised traders the day after an industry group had
reported a draw.

MARKET NEWS
* Asian stocks rose modestly on Thursday, taking their cue from gains on Wall Street as the
region braced for a resumption of trading in the Chinese markets after a week-long break.
