KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's consumer price index in May rose 2.1% from a year earlier after a new consumption tax was introduced the previous month, data from the Statistics Department showed on Friday.
The May inflation rate was above economists' median estimate of 2% in a Reuters poll.
