KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Datuk Seri G. Palanivel has urged the mining industry to look seriously into developing downstream industries rather than exporting raw minerals.
"This will enable the minerals to fetch higher prices, since prices of processed products do not fluctuate as easily as raw materials," he said in his speech at the annual luncheon of the Malaysian Chamber of Mines here on Tuesday.
