Shell Refining returns to the black with RM84mil profit


KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Refining Company Bhd has returned to the black in the first quarter ended March 31, 2015 with a pre-tax profit of RM84.23mil against a pre-tax loss of RM59.26mil recorded in the same quarter last year.

Revenue, slipped to RM2.48bil from RM3.99bil previously, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia. The decrease in revenue was mainly driven from lower product prices while higher profits were contributed by improved refining margins, the company said in a statement. – Bernama
