MULPHA Land Bhd, a property company that had been off investors’ radar for a very long time, has suddenly come to life, with its shares surging by some 35% over the past one week.
It is still unclear who is actively buying the stock, but dealers say it could be opportunistic investors betting that the company is on a new growth trajectory, following the general offer (GO) announced in early March by its new controlling shareholders.
