Sapura Resources net profit down 13.7% to RM4.41mil


KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Resources Bhd's net profit for its fourth quarter ended Jan 31, 2015 fell 13.69% to RM4.41mil from RM5.11mil a year ago.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Thursday, the group said its revenue for the period fell 5.2% to RM9.67mil from RM10.21mil a year earlier.

Earnings per share stood at 3.16 sen from 3.66 sen the same period last year.

For its full year, net earnings jumped to RM24.51mil from RM9.4mil a year ago while revenue increased 4.5% to RM39.4mil from RM37.69mi.

Sapura said revenue increased due to higher revenue from property investment by RM2.6mil, offset with decreased in revenue from aviation segment by RM0.9mil, respectively.

It said it is currently in an investing mode and its board of directors expected a challenging environment in the immediate-term but believed the prospects for the longer-term would be positive.
