KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) president and group chief executive Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman’s absence was silently felt, especially by the media fraternity, at one of the major annual events of the country’s premier investment institution yesterday.

In one of those rare occasions, it was understood that the man of the hour was on leave, and the yearly income distribution announcement of PNB, which has managed over RM255bil in the past 19 years, was presented by chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid.
