FBM KLCI gains ground amid firmer ringgit


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian stock market recorded one of its best days since last year as the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KL Composite Index (FBM KLCI) rose more than 1% amid a firmer ringgit.

The uptrend was buoyed not only by the stronger ringgit against the US dollar but also by buying in key heavyweights such as plantation counters, dealers said.
