KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Research expects consumer spending to gradually return to normal from six to nine months’ time once the public become more familiar with the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
It said, however, over-reactions from consumers after the GST implementation could pose downside risk to the gross domestic product (GDP) forecast of a moderate 5% this year compared with 6% in 2014.
