Datasonic posts net profit of RM15.58mil


KUALA LUMPUR: Datasonic Group Bhd's net profit for its third quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 stood at RM15.58mil while revenue for the period was at RM60.38mil.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, the group said net earnings for its nine months to-date was RM65.11mil while revenue stood at RM237.26mil.

Earnings per share was 1.15 sen.

Commenting on its earnings, the group said it achieved a revenue of RM60.38mil and a pretax of RM15.86mil in the quarter.

"RM51.63mil of the group's revenue is derived from the supply of smart cards, datapages, consumables and personalisation solutions.

"There is no comparison with the corresponding quarter in the preceding year due to the change of financial year end from Dec 31 to March 31, as announced to Bursa Malaysia on Feb 28, 2014," it said.

It said that the group's performance for the remaining quarter of the financial period ending March 31, 2015 is expected to be satisfactory, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
