KUALA LUMPUR: Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd's net profit for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 jumped to RM2.73mil from RM339,000 a year earlier.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia on Friday, the group said its revenue for the period rose 22.8% to RM159.34mil from RM129.75mil a year ago.
For its full year, net earnings surged to RM12.71mil from RM5.52mil a year earlier while revenue rose 10.3% to RM655.55mil from RM594.23mil.
Commenting on its results, the group posted higher revenue than the preceding year by RM61.3mil or 10% with pre-tax profit improved by RM1.6mil.
"This was mainly attributable to larger volume of works done by its construction division during the year under review," it said.
Moving forward, the group's construction division expects to perform better as the remaining order book balance remains strong and the prospects for enhancement of the order book is encouraging.
"Moving forward, the oil and gas division continues to be robust with steady flow of income to the group. The group also looks forward to achieving positive development in plantation division," it said.
