Proactive measures needed for banking sector integration under AEC

AMID challenges in the integration of the regional banking sector with the upcoming Asean Economic Community (AEC), industry players say this initiative is still achievable if effective measures to align and coordinate integration efforts are proactively adopted by member countries.

CIMB Group Holdings Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak says that towards this end, an empowered supra-national entity is needed to align and coordinate the integration efforts.
