TNB profit jumps on higher sales, cautious of prospects for the current year


PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) net profit jumped 34.37% to RM2.35bil on the back of a 15.2% increase in revenue to RM11.03bil for the first quarter ended Nov 30, 2014. The better results were due to better electricity sales in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and a lower overall operating expenditure of 3.6%.

Earnings per share increased to 41.67 sen from 31.01 sen. No dividends were declared during the period.
