PETALING JAYA: Asian stock markets soared, led by sharp gains in China after the central bank lowered the interest rate for the first time in more than two years. The surprise cut, analysts said, is a signal that policymakers in China are taking a more aggressive action to boost slacking domestic growth.
Investor sentiment was also bolstered by comments by the European Central Bank over the weekend, hinting about further stimulus actions.
