PETALING JAYA: The consumer price index (CPI) in Malaysia for October rose 2.8% year-on-year to 111.3, from 108.3 in the same month a year ago.
The increase in the CPI, which is popularly used to measure the rate of inflation, was mainly due to the rise of the index in the transport category that rose 5.3%, followed by restaurants and hotels (+4.6%).
