Late buying of Sime Darby drives KLCI to higher close (Update)


KUALA LUMPUR: Late fund buying of Sime Darby helped the FBM KLCI close more than eight points higher on Friday while Petronas Gas, Tenaga Nasional and KL Kepong also shored up the 30-stock index.

At the close, the KLCI was up 8.18 points or 0.45% to 1,818.86 but year-to-date, it was down 2.58%. Turnover was 1.87 billion shares valued at RM1.77bil. There were 625 gainers, 254 losers and 251 stocks unchanged.
