Maybank unit posts increase in profit

KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank’s Indonesian banking unit, PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk (BII) has reported a 6.7% increase in operating profit to 2.05 trillion rupiah (RM555.85mil) for the nine months ended Sept 30 from 1.92 trillion rupiah (RM520mil) in the corresponding period last year.

Net profit after tax and minority interest for the first nine months of 2014 stood at 340 billion rupiah while profit before tax was 478 billion rupiah compared with 1,098 billion rupiah and 1,562 billion rupiah respectively, in the corresponding period last year. – Bernama
