Higher gas prices weigh on Top Glove Q4 earnings (Updated)

KUALA LUMPUR: Top Glove Corporation Bhd’s earnings slipped 5.2% to RM45.90mil in the fourth quarter ended Aug 31, 2014 compared with RM48.22mil a year ago as it was affected by the increase in natural gas prices in May.

It said on Tuesday its revenue rose 5.8% to RM580.22mil from RM548.16mil driven by a steady rise in demand for rubber gloves, which was also reflected in sales volume which recorded growth year-on-year, albeit at a more modest 3%.
