Tenaga up after RM6bil power plant deal


KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of Tenaga rose at mid-afternoon on Tuesday after partnering Bangladesh in a RM6bil power plant project.

At 2.57pm, Tenaga rose 10 sen to RM12.30 with some 2.03 million shares traded betwen RM12.14 and RM12.38.

The FBM KLCI was down five points to 1,841.05. Turnover was 1.372 billion shares valued at RM1.189bil. There were 246 gainers, 484 decliners and 321 counters unchanged.

Bernama reported that Malaysia and Bangladesh signed a government-to-government Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and Powertek Bhd to implement a RM6bil power plant project.
