Astro at mid-June high, propels KLCI up more than 2 points


KUALA LUMPUR: Fund buying of pay-TV company Astro saw its share price surge to the highest since mid-June and gave the FBM KLCI a hefty 2.38 points boost despite the weaker broader market on Tuesday.

At the close, the FBM KLCI was up 1.58 points or 0.08% to 1,867.69. Turnover was 2.80 billion shares valued at RM2.15bil. There were 339 gainers, 526 losers and 297 counters unchanged.
