KLCI ends August on a whimper, Petronas stocks, GentingM fall


KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia ended August on a whimper with the 30-stock FBM KLCI shedding nearly 10 points to below 1,870 on selling of Petronas-linked stocks, Genting Malaysia and SapuraKencana Petroleum.

At the close, the KLCI was down 9.57 points or 0.51% on late selling to 1,866.11. Turnover was 3.22 billion shares valued at RM2.85bil. Declining stocks beat advancers 660 to 251.
