Hong Leong Group in limelight, ringgit at 10-month high (Update)


KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of four counters in the Hong Leong group were among the top gainers on Wednesday, lifted by their strong earnings while a strong ringgit prompted some buying of Genting and Petronas stocks.

At 5pm, the FBM KLCI was up 10.56 points or 0.57% to 1,872.38. The 30-stock index rose to an intra-day high of 1,878.71 before some mild profit taking set in. Turnover was 2.63 billion shares valued at RM2.40bil. There were 410 gainers, 439 losers and 311 stocks unchanged.
