Masa: Lack of supportive measures hurting shipping sector

PETALING JAYA: The country’s shipping industry risks seeing a decrease in tonnage and losing its top 20 ranking in the world due to the current lack of supportive policy measures, said Malaysia Shipowners’ Association (Masa).

“After having charted a careful course that has taken Malaysia to the crest in the wave of success, recent public policy initiatives seem to threaten to take the wind out of the sails in the mid sea,” Masa chairman Nordin Mat Yusoff said in a statement.
