Talks on MCIS Zurich stake sale to S. Africa's Sanlam

PETALING JAYA: Zurich Insurance Group is negotiating with South Africa’s Sanlam Ltd to sell its 40% stake in MCIS Zurich Insurance Bhd, according to sources.

Swiss-based Zurich Insurance, which had merged with MCIS back in 2001 to form MCIS Zurich, had earlier indicated that it was looking for a buyer for its stake in MCIS Zurich. This came about after Zurich Insurance acquired Malaysian Assurance Alliance Bhd (MAA) in September 2011.
