Toyota sells 9.98 mil vehicles in 2013, stays world's No 1

TOKYO: Toyota outpaced rivals General Motors and Volkswagen last year to retain the title of world's biggest automaker with sales of 9.98 million vehicles, according to figures released Thursday.

The Japanese auto giant logged its highest-ever annual sales figure, with the results signalling it had recovered from a series of damaging safety recalls and Japan's 2011 quake-tsunami disaster – AFP.
