Higher fees for directors, up by 37% in five years

PETALING JAYA: The average remuneration for non-executive directors in Malaysia has increased by 37% since 2009 to RM122,000 per annum as at June 30, 2013, a joint-study by KPMG Malaysia and the Audit Committee Institute Malaysia has revealed.

The study included a survey of 1,821 directors, independent and non-independent non-executive board members from the top-300 companies across all industries listed on Bursa Malaysia by market capitalisation.
