Scientex aims to double size

BEING a 45-year-old company, Scientex Bhd has had its fair share of ups and downs. Having gone through two major financial crises – the Asian financial crisis in 1997 and the 2008 global financial crisis – the company employs the “choose and focus” approach in growing its business.

Managing director Lim Peng Jin envisions to double the company’s size in the next five years. He tells StarBizWeek in an interview: “We have a clear direction and good strategy to help us achieve that.” The company recorded RM1.2bil in revenue for the financial year ended July 31, 2013 (FY13).
