KUALA LUMPUR: It is important for the relevant authorities to monitor Malaysia’s private sector leverage levels, said Lord Adair Turner, the former chairman of the United Kingdom’s Financial Services Authority.
“There are some trends in Asia that could be of concern. In particular, the continual increase in private sector leverage, in which the emerging markets used to be much lower than they were in the advanced economies. But now, they are approaching those levels,” he said.
