KUALA LUMPUR: Flexible working arrangements and a family-friendly environment are among the key factors to increase the retention rate of women employees and attract more women returnees to the workforce, said Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim.
To date, the participation of women in the workforce stood at 49%. According to the recent Grant Thornton International Business Report, only 26% of senior management roles was filled by women at present, making it the third lowest globally to have women on the board of companies as chairmen, chief executive officers, chief financial officers, and executive and non-executive directors.
