Malaysian economy set to improve in H2

Second quarter GDP growth is expected to be higher compar ed with the first quarter on the back of impr oved industri al pr oduction which is almost 40% of the GDP, despite con traction in export for the quarter .

BANK Negara will be releasing second quarter economic data including gross domestic product (GDP) figures next Wednesday. The consumer price index measuring inflation will also be released by the Statistics Department on the same day.

There are indications that growth momentum has improved for the exports-reliant economy despite the drop in external demand in recent months.
