SapuraKencana wins RM8.6bil Petrobas contract

PETALING JAYA: SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd has been awarded a US$2.7bil (RM8.58bil) contract from Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) to build, charter and operate three additional deepwater flexible pipe laying support vessels (PLSVs).

In its filing to Bursa Malaysia, SapuraKencana said Sapura Navegacao Maritima S.A. Brazil (SNM), a joint venture between its unit TL Offshore Sdn Bhd and Seabras Servicos De Petroleo S.A., a subsidiary of Seadrill Ltd, had won the contract following a public tender exercise that was launched late last year.
