HELP Q2 profit retreats 27% on drop in classes, rising expenses

PETALING JAYA: HELP International Corp Bhd has recorded a 27% drop in net profit to RM5.07mil for the second quarter ended April 30, 2013 from RM7.03mil in the same quarter last year.

Revenue was also 3% lower at RM33.71mil from RM34.73mil previously, it told Bursa Malaysia. The education provider attributed the lower revenue and profit to a drop in number of classes conducted caused by the number of holidays and festive periods and an increase in operating expenses. Additionally, the enrolment of international students for the quarter fell due to the implementation of new visa policies.
