IN the hierarchy of decision-making, people can use the bottom up or top down approach. People from different levels of an organisational or society tend to use more of either one based on the roles they play.
Take reporters for instance, the kind of decision that is made usually requires us to employ the bottom up approach. When we gather information from the ground, we are collecting information at the “bottom” level. As we present them in our articles, we will have to decide what to write and sort out the more important information from the less, which means, there can be bits of information that we are not able to present due to various reasons, for example space constraint.
